Carolina Green Sustainability Social and Week of Welcome Events 2012

Are you Carolina Green? Get involved, find your niche, and help make UNC a more sustainable campus! Mingle with fellow students and campus staff. Learn about Carolina’s many “green” student organizations, departments, and internship opportunities. Sustainable refreshments will be provided!

WHO: All new and returning students and employees interested in social, economic, and environmental sustainability are invited!

WHAT: Representatives from sustainability-related student groups, academic departments, and campus departments will make brief introductions, followed by refreshments and mingling.  This is THE BEST way to learn what is going on across campus!

WHEN: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Thursday, August 23, 2012

WHERE: FPG Student Union Art Gallery (catch the bus here!)

You don’t need to wait until the Sustainability Social to be Carolina Green. Carolina has made it a priority to protect the environment by being sustainable and reducing emissions. These Carolina Green Initiative events will show you ways to reduce your carbon footprint so that you can focus on leaving your UNC Heelprint instead:

New Student and Family Welcome Dinner

Enjoy a buffet-style cookout with students and staff from Student Affairs and the General Alumni Association (GAA). You’ve spent all day moving in, this one is on us! Carolina Campus Community Garden (CCCG) Tour and Workday

On Wilson St.off of Cameron Ave.
Enjoy a short walk to the garden. It’s only five minutes from the Old Well! Head west on Cameron Avenue. Go past the Carolina Inn (on Pittsboro Street) and make your very next left onto Wilson Street. The garden is on your right and can’t be missed. Sponsored by the Carolina Campus Community Garden.

FallFest

Celebrating its 16th anniversary, FallFest is a true Tar Heel tradition and how we kick off the school year!
